The past 15 months have been particularly challenging for many of us due to COVID -19.
Many of us may have had the virus or know someone who has. You may have been furloughed, home schooling, shielding and generally coping with the constraints of the ‘lockdown.’
Many of us have also had a variety of disappointments come into our life whether this is through important family events being cancelled for example, christenings, weddings, milestone birthdays, anniversaries and travel be it for holidays or to see beloved family members.
All these actions can take its toll on our mental health and wellbeing and lead to anxiety and the fear it brings with it.
Currently the ‘lockdown’ rules are slowly becoming more relaxed. However, the feelings of anxiety for many are still with them. It is taking the steps to go back to work at the office or the workplace and meeting colleagues again. For the individuals who have been shielding it is the thought of going outside again to ‘face the world.’ The feelings of anxiety of ‘stepping out’ and going beyond the front door can be very overwhelming. Fear and phobias of ‘agoraphobia’ or travelling on public transport can trigger panic attacks and a genuine fear of ‘not being in control’ resulting in anxiety disorders.
Good news! I can help. At Balance Counselling and Coaching I can support you to overcome
your fears and phobias.
How we provide support
Support is provided in a few ways firstly we open communication and offer encouragement. I never reserve judgement. Reassurance and compassion help to create the support mechanism that is required. I do not promise a ‘quick fix’, but I can help.
Anxiety can often instigate feelings that are overpowering and destabilising, for the individual, at Balance our key focus is bringing stability and perspective and ultimately a feeling of calmness.
By using proven techniques to change an individual’s physical state, we aim to endeavour to seek changes in the emotional and mental state.
